... a reason to stop along a journey, and an indicator of a bit of civilization. We're not blue water cruisers, looking to cross oceans for fun. An occasional remote anchorage is wonderful, but the thing we love most is exploring small towns, walking, stopping for coffee or ice cream and absorbing the feel of a place...
I'd like this to be a great reference for cruisers! We're home ported in Anacortes, known as the gateway to the San Juan Islands and Gulf Islands in Canada. As we cruise this summer, we'll be adding our favorite places - ice cream shops, bakeries, coffee shops - as well as walks & hikes. (We need a little balance in our cruising!) Next year, I'll be adding places in the Abacos, a small group of lightly developed islands in the Bahamas - our other favorite cruising grounds.
I'd love to hear from you! Tell me your favorite spots & walks from your travels, or ice cream places or bakeries that we should check out while boating. Please send me your ideas!
